OTTAWA – $25,000 in community grants are available nationwide to foster grassroots development through Football Canada’s “Try It Days”.
Football “Try It Days” introduce participants to Football in a welcoming and positive environment where the goals are to break down barriers to sport participation and increase sport participation among equity-deserving groups.
Applications focussed on programming for equity-deserving groups will be given priority. Twenty-five grants of $1,000 each are available. Recipients must use the funding between August 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. Applicants must be members of their Provincial Football Association or Associate Members of Football Canada. Applications are being accepted now and close on March 14, 2024 at 5:00pm ET.

Background:
The Community Sport for All Initiative component seeks to remove barriers and increase sport participation rates for underrepresented groups. Its key objective is to support community sport initiatives for equity-deserving groups, in particular, Black, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQI+, and newcomers to increase participation and retention in sport.
Funding:

- Applications close on March 14, 2024 at 5:00pm ET
- Funding to be distributed starting the week of March 18, 2024
